Lucky for us, when Sara moved out here, she brought a supply of winter clothes that had been under my parent's pool table. 70s and 80s? Perhaps. Warm? For sure! We'll take it!
Jeffrey & Caitlyn decided that they wanted to be ghosts this year for Halloween, so it seemed easiest to just have all the kids be ghosts. Downtown Springville had some trick or treating at all the shops along Main Street and BYU had a "Spooktacular" (again, Sara blogged about it...http://sara-realisticallyunrealistic.blogspot.com/2011/10/spooktacular.html) that we attended. So between that and the 4-ward trunk or treat, the kids definitely got more than their fair shares of Halloween candy!
Don't know where Caitlyn picked up this scary face!
Andrew with his haul.
Jeffrey's stash.
Again, fierce Caitlyn & her goodies.
The award that the kids won at BYU's Spooktacular - obviously not a terribly scary crowd if our kids won!
There was a free pumpkin patch and petting farm that we visited one day. The kids loved climbing on the hay bales, looking at the animals, playing in the corn pile and choosing pumpkins.
Caitlyn with the llama and kangaroo.
The kids petting some baby animal that we cannot now recall...animal experts out there who can tell us what this is?
Jeffrey on the walls of the hay bale maze.
Andrew in the corn.
Jeffrey on the huge mountain of hay.
Aunt Sara and Eric.
After we left the pumpkin patch, we headed up the canyon and had lunch and went for a hike. Of course Sara took pictures of the canyon trip, so I don't have any on my camera. And, of course, she's already blogged about it because she's a stellar blogger! So I'll take advantage of her...http://sara-realisticallyunrealistic.blogspot.com/2011/10/head-for-hills.html
The kids have been SO excited to see some snow! They've been asking since August when they would be able to play in the snow. We didn't really think that this snow would make past the mountains, but it did! Not much, but for this Florida crowd, it made for a big party! Jeffrey couldn't wait to get out and play as soon as he got home from school.
One of Caitlyn's favorite primary songs is "Praise to the Man." She doesn't quite have all the words down, but she loves to sing and Eric loves to listen.
Jeffrey is our big boy. He certainly knows how to be helpful when he wants to be. He is excelling in second grade and is always up for exploring.
Caitlyn - 6
Caitlyn is a mess. She was THRILLED to start kindergarten this year and has recently really taken off with her reading. She plays so nicely with her brothers that I really miss her when she's at school.
Andrew - 4
Andrew once struggled to talk, now he rarely takes a break. He loves to sing & talk & tackle everyone around. He is dying to go to school with his older siblings. He's a fireball and has a fierce temper, but would kiss you to death right after a tantrum.
Eric - 2
Eric is such a funny kid. He's starting to talk, which is always fun to watch. He walked late, but now runs to keep up with everyone. Even when he doesn't try to talk, there's still never a question of what he wants - very assertive this one.
